The Great Wall The Huanguacheng Wall was built during the Ming Dynasty from 1368-1644 and measures about 40.39 miles long.

There is a resort on the wall with views of mountains and lakes. During the summer months the wall and the village surrounding the bottom is covered in what the Chinese refer to as the Huanghua, hence how the wall got its name. Huanghua stands for “yellow flower”.

Under a portion of the wall you can see a lake called the Jintang Lake. You can also experience their cultural cuisine in the town below that surrounds The Great Wall.

On a cliff section of the wall you can also find a couple Chinese characters symbolizing the story of the wall, why it was built and the mistake the emperor had made.

There are many views from the top of the Great Wall and there are three sections with different types of views. One section of the wall is the Huanghuacheng Reservoir, which is in the shape of a curved moon. There is also a chestnut garden that dates back to the Ming Dynasty and the Shibadeng. The Shibadeng is a great ancient artifact, which resembles a dragon ready to take flight. You can also see in the horizon the Yaoziyu Castle, which is said to bring blessings.
